I haven’t performed or practiced performance for several days now due to some other priorities catching up.
Hopefully I get back to it tomorrow!
One routine I added I am proud of is singing for 3 minutes every hour which will be a nice habit that will benefit me when I am either performing or creating a song.
I am proud of the fact that my songs are getting better.
Last time I sang in a room in Hell’s Kitchen, NY was full of environmental sounds due to cars outside and other noises from the room system.
But for some reason, the songs feel pretty clear even with these environmental sounds which is going to be an awesome archive on Spotify as its own unique album there.
Once I work with several clients in NY, I am going to get back to performing outside since the weather is getting nicer and that’s one of the best ways learn and grow.

Today I didn’t perform or practiced performance again but instead did some designs and other things.
Since tomorrow is Saturday, I can see myself getting back to practicing performance.
In terms of performance, just in terms of speaking about it, I think that for me it’s important to have less instrumental music that I choose to sing to for practicing.
Currently I do two things in terms of practicing singing with instrumentals.
I sing with my own instrumentals, very simple ones, I make with my iPad and
I sing with 30 instrumentals that I found on Youtube that feels like funky R&B like something reminiscent of D’Angelo or contemporary R&B.
What I can do differently which I’ve been thinking about lately is that I can have 20 instrumentals instead of 30.
I think 20 is enough to form your own character as a particular genre artist and for me, my genre is something along the lines of contemporary R&B and funky R&B.
The currently challenge is that I have to sing enough with these 30 instrumentals first in order to narrow down to just 20.
Then I think I can aim for 15 (perhaps) because I feel like I don’t need to know everything to perform.

Today I danced a little and felt pretty good.
I was dancing to music that are not in my playlist and even though it felt good, I need to not do that so that I can focus on singing and dancing at the same time with my own instrumentals or the music that closely relates to the vibe I can easily pull off that also has lyrics that are very clean.
Aside from that, my next step again is to narrow down the number of instrumentals that I have.
As mentioned before, I have 30 other instrumentals that I’ve saved for inspiration and training but I truly believe that narrowing down to 20 is going to be very important in order to make see some results and gain confidence from them.
At some point next month (hopefully in the early May), I would like to go to B&H and get a Bluetooth PA system/speaker to get back to public performance.

Today I did not dance but I did sing.
Today I spent more time walking around and networking than focusing on my routines which is fine because I had great interactions with people with an opportunity for tomorrow!
Anyways, regarding the show, tomorrow I can definitely focus on just completing my routines for singing and dancing and maybe at some point tomorrow really just bring down the number of instrumentals to stay focused and build confidence through my refining my style and honing craft.
Yesterday at Aman, a front-desk person mentioned about the Jazz club that they have while we were having a conversation about selecting my works that resonate with Aman.
If I were to have my own business that merges show, hospitality & design together, I am thinking I could run a hotel that is beautifully designed with my own kind of aesthetics and have like a music venue perhaps like the Jazz club that Aman has and I perform there along with a roster of other artists.
So does that mean I want to be a hotel owner and a showman?
If that’s the case, should I stop journaling about design and just journal about hospitality and show?
For now I am keeping all three.
