Cabo

3/21/2025

Cabo is a Mexican-American restaurant that is catered toward people who are used to both the traditional Mexican flavor and the American taste.

For the restaurant’s new menu design, I found these arched shelves to be interesting inspirations:

Some initial designs that I’d explored previously:

Today I will be finishing up the brunch menu.

This is where I left off last time.

It has two sides and I want to go with the same concept as above: the arched holder with some Talavera patterns.

I want the brunch menu to feel pretty and light like a beautiful sun-lit morning by the beach near Cabo San Lucas.

After I’m done with this menu, I am going to experiment with the TV screens that people see when they arrive.

These TV screens are no longer going to be for the menu because this space is now going to be for Cabo hosts who are going to be greeting guests so it should be more about conveying the welcoming & “Cabo” vibe.

Here are some updates from the previous session:

This is the Brunch Menu.

It is made to look elegant like one precious morning at Cabo.

Some color explorations.

And for the host station, this was one concept: Instagram reels playing in the arched frame with Cabo San Lucas as a backdrop that’s panning around or is an actual footage.

Today it would be cool to storyboard this out so that it feels like a nice little Cabo ad that plays as the guests walk in and the hosts greet them.

Here is the storyboard I made the other day:

Basically the 3 TV screens are going to showcase different Cabo services or different aspects of Cabo that communicates an exciting and welcoming vibe.

Instagram raw footages were given today from the social media person and she suggested we could categorize the three TV’s into the following categories: Food, Cocktails/bar & Atmosphere.

I am going to make some videos and test them out on the TV’s today.

Today I am going to finish up the TV screens for the host station.

We decided to just have the center TV to play an Instagram reel and the left and the right TV’s to announce events. Here are the events that I am putting for now:

In terms of the looks, it’s going to be minimal with patterned background, texts & perhaps imageries:

Utilizing these TV screens to showcase events and some instances of Cabo restaurant will allow people to feel comfortable and perhaps curious. Here are some mock-ups with some deals/events on both sides:

Here is an update to the host station TV screens:

Just slight minor tweaks like the left Cabo logo acting as a drink like how the right one is a basketball net.

And here is how it looks with the Instagram reel:

Overall, I am pretty satisfied with it.

Some things can be better and more accurate like the speed of these frames moving and such which were not done with consistent transition poin.
